Screen content captured through Apple ReplayKit broadcast functionality
Derived image data and explicit-content classification results
Flagged frame metadata, confidence scores, and timestamps

4. How Monitoring Works on iOS
The Vigilant iOS app includes monitoring features that rely on Apple system frameworks and user-enabled configuration.

4.1 ReplayKit Screen Broadcast
If you choose to enable screen monitoring, the app may use Apple ReplayKit broadcast functionality to capture screen content from the device for content analysis. Screen capture does not begin unless the user or authorized account holder initiates and enables the feature.

4.2 Family Controls and Screen Time APIs
The app may use Apple Family Controls, Device Activity, Managed Settings, and related Screen Time APIs to let the authorized account holder select apps, categories, or web domains to monitor or restrict and to apply related protective settings.

4.3 Analysis and Reporting
Captured screen content may be analyzed to detect explicit or inappropriate material. When content is flagged, Vigilant may create incident records, alerts, and accountability notifications. Depending on the feature being used, flagged images, related metadata, and reports may be stored locally on the device, transmitted securely to our servers, or shared with designated accountability partners.

5. Notifications and Accountability Features
If enabled, the app may send push notifications, email notifications, and SMS notifications related to:
Account activity
Monitoring status
Detected incidents
Device connection or disconnection events
Reports for designated accountability partners
Message and data rates may apply for SMS notifications. Message frequency varies based on account activity and detection events.

6. How We Share Information
We may share information in the following circumstances:

6.1 With Accountability Partners
If you designate accountability partners, we may share incident-related information, reports, flagged content, timestamps, and related monitoring information with those individuals as part of the service.

6.2 With Service Providers
We may share information with service providers that help us operate the app and our business, such as hosting providers, analytics or diagnostic vendors, customer support tools, email providers, SMS providers, payment processors, and notification delivery providers. These providers are authorized to use the information only as necessary to perform services on our behalf and are expected to provide comparable protection for the data.

6.3 For Legal and Security Reasons
We may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, users, or the public.

6.4 Business Transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

7. Data Retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the service, maintaining records, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing agreements.
Depending on the feature and service configuration:
Account information may be retained while your account is active
Push notification tokens may be retained until replaced, invalidated, or account deletion
Incident records, flagged frames, and related report data may be retained for a limited period necessary to provide reports, notifications, and account history
Billing or transaction-related records may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes

Deleting your Vigilant account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription. App Store subscriptions must be managed separately through your Apple ID subscription settings.

9. Children’s Privacy and Parental Authorization
Vigilant may be used by parents, guardians, or other authorized adults to monitor devices within their household or care environment. If the app is used in connection with a child, the parent or legal guardian is responsible for providing any required consent and authorization and for exercising rights relating to that child’s data.
We do not intend for children to independently create accounts without parental involvement. Parents or legal guardians may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of a child’s information.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
Access personal information we hold about you
Correct inaccurate information
Request deletion of your information
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
